Sitka, Alaska Fishing Report - May '18

Updated: Mar 3, 2020

The 2018 season has begun and we can't be more excited for another spectacular Sitka, AK charter fishing season. Halibut fishing has been quick & productive throughout the month of May. We've found some big halibut, small halibut, and some in between. The halibut we have been retaining have consistently been over 30 inches. Some great white meat to take home and enjoy throughout the year.

The King salmon fishing this May has been similar to last summer. We've been typically catching anywhere from one to four King salmon per fishing day. The majority of our fishing days has been spent searching for salmon. The large schools of Kings just haven't shown up yet, however, we know they will soon.

Here's a review from a satisfied guest of ours who fished with us this May:

"Great Fishing! The scenery was unbelievable to say the least. Nathan and Dayton were on top of everything from fishing to anything we could possibly need. My wife and her buddy had an epic day of fishing to say the least. I have been in the fishing business myself for almost 30 years and I know a fishermen when I see one! The boat was very nice and clean. The guys were contentious for the ladies to use the bathroom. Then lunch was made for us and we just relaxed and let things happen and it did. Highly recommend these guys." -Johnny G. 5/25/18
